“So how did the meeting go? Was Mr. Nishant pleased to meet you?”
Arjun and Nisha were having a conversation over the phone. He wanted to know how things had turned out at the Babblebrook hotel.
“Diya met Mr. Nishant,” spoke Nisha,” I too was going to meet him but then Ahan showed up and I…………………….I thought that I should better put some matters to rest.”
“So that man hasnt learnt his lesson yet,” said Arjun angrily,”I think he deserves another slap from you.”
“Calm down Arjun. He behaved pretty well yesterday. Besides that, he told me about some terrible incients that had happened at the Nightshade hotel. I guess you were right. Maybe these matters are connected to my life in some way. I feel that I must stop running away from them and face them right away.”
“When are you going there again?”he asked sounding a bit concerned.
“This weekend, Diya and I are going to participate in the launch of the new monthly magazine. Mr. Nishant has invited us and he is going to introduce our work to the audience.”
“Thats good news,” he said,” I am sure it will all turn out well. And if anything goes wrong, you can always count on me.”
Diya was burning some sheets of paper in the fireplace. They were the pages from her diary which she often wrote in the early days of her college life. She used to write about how she wanted her life to be. She had always longed for peace and satisfaction which sadly was always snatched away from her. Despite working so hard endlessly for years, she landed up in a job she had no apetite for. For years, she had prayed for a good job and a flourishing career. For years she had prayed for a good income and a respectable position in the society. But there was one thing she never prayed for; happiness. And she never got it.
Betrayed by the man she loved, stuck in a job she disliked and ruled by evil bosses, she was leading a life full of sorrow and misery. And one day, it all changed. She saw a ray of hope and ran towards it. She found her hope in a scam. A scam which was arranged in order to fool people became a miracle for her. And then there was no turning back. She was willing to give up on every luxury in exchange of her smile. She had fallen in love with a part of herself she never knew even existed.
“We might be staying at the Babblebrook hotel this weekend,” Nisha spoke over the phone,” We need to work on the magazine day and night and for that we must work with the editors too. Ahan has promised to lend us his full support. He said that my posts on a hyggelit lifestyle have helped him cope with his temper issues.”
“Nisha,” said Arjun from the other end of the line,” That man has got serious narcicistic traits. And he is like a parasite that keeps sucking out all your energy. All he cares about is himself. He is trying to win back your trust because he knows that anyone in their senses would stay miles away from him. But you…………………..You think less and feel more. You feel that he is in pain but in reality, he just gets away with playing the victim.”
“I dont think so,” said Nisha,” Maybe…………”
“Why arent you getting it!” Arjun literally yelled over the phone,” You need to stay away from him.”
“But I cant,” said Nisha unable to comprehend the reason for his sudden anger,” He is struggling with some emotional wounds and needs my help.”
