“Our minds by default interpret uncertainity as unsafe. So no matter how good the change is, our minds are always going to be flooded with thoughts of it being unsafe. And thats the reason you both are so scared to launch your very own online workshops,” said Nisha as she was busy cutting the pumpkin pie into pieces.
“That makes sense,” said Vivan,”but cant we convince our minds some way?”
“Here,” said Nisha serving him the pie,” eat this delicious pie and calm down. You will feel better.”
“Thank you,” said Vivan taking the plate from her hands.
“Those who are scared to take responsibility for how their lives are turning out,” said Nisha,” are too quick in blaming others for their suffering. They are hurt people who always end up hurting people. The way your boss spoke to Arjun clearly shows how he is dwelling on his ego self.”
“I agree,” said Arjun,” but I have no idea about how to deal with such people.”
“There is no way to deal with them,” said Diya placing the tightly closed container of rice on the dining table,” You can only heal what you feel when you are interacting with them. Thats all.”
“And how exactly do we do that?” asked Arjun.
“By releasing your ego self,” said Nisha putting the container containing the soup on the stove,”when you choose to not respond as your ego says, you give the light within you a chance to guide you. And very slowly your anger turns into pain which finally turns into compassion. This change doesnt happen in a moment, but with time it does happen.”
“I wish,” said Nisha lighting up the stove,” that I had known this before I slapped Mr. Ahan that day. The way he behaved with me made me so angry but when I thought about it later, I slowly began to realise how easily he gets insecure and annoyed with people around him and then all he wants to do is to have everything under his control. No wonder he lacks his peace of mind and behaves in such ways.”
“What he did was enough for him to be slapped by anyone,” said Arjun angrily,” How can he even dare to control and force someone like that!”
“I completely agree,” said Vivan,”Diya was so right about him. He is a dangerous person.”
“I believe all thats over now,” said Diya pouring the warm soup into a smaller container,” The important thing is that we are all going through big changes these days and thats stressing us out. There is a beautiful patch of woods a little distance from here. I am planning to go there early morning this Sunday. If you all want, we can go together and spend some time in nature. It might heal our troubled minds.”
“I couldnt have thought of a better idea,” said Arjun.
“Thats perfect,” said Vivan.
“I wasnt letting you go there alone anyway,” said Nisha,” but I am so happy that we are all going there together.”
