“Do you know what I do when I am hurt or worried?” asked Diya as she saw Vivan gazing at the night sky.
“I can guess,” he said,” maybe you read something to make yourself feel better.”
“Not always,” she said,” most often I close my eyes and try to receive guidance on how I can offer love to someone in need. When I wasnt aware of your whereabouts I was too worried to be able to focus on work. I sat close to this tiny little sapling here and meditated for a while. The words my inner voice spoke were so soothing for my broken heart.”
“What did your inner voice say to you?” he asked looking at her.
“The light within me,” replied Diya,”whispered softly and told me that I can always offer more love to the world by being compassionate instead of being afraid. My ego self maybe afraid of people and situations but my inner light recognises the light within all and in the moment I choose to dwell on this recognition, I offer more and more love where there is more and more fear.”
“So,” said Vivan leaning back on his chair,” how do you do this? I mean even if these words are true, how can we act on them?”
“By allowing your ego self to be the way she wants to be instead of trying to control her the whole time,” said Diya wrapping her arms around herself,” Allow your ego self to fly as the kite into the dark skies if she wants to but always remember that the thread which prevents the kite from being carried away by the storm is always and always LOVE. The one thing which always has your back is love. I am so afraid of my new boss. She is a helpful lady but too strict. When I stand outside her office feeling worried and overwhelmed, I offer love to her by remembering the light within her as the same as that within me. I offer love to her by replacing my fear with compassion. Even when I am offering love to someone else, I am always at the receiving end.”
“That sounds beautiful,” he said,” And is so true. When I allowed myself to stop feeling guilty for hurting you, I felt humbled by this experience and wiser thoughts began to flood my mind. Replacing guilt with love enabled me to see your past wounds caused by someone who betrayed you. And then I chose to offer you love by gathering the courage to be here, face you and speak my truth.”
“I am so proud of you,” she said keeping her head on his shoulder,”that you chose to see this with love.”
“Its been a while,” he said,” since we had dinner together. I am so grateful for this invitation.”
