Nisha marked a date in the calender and looked at it with immense grief in her eyes. It was the day she had to pay her next installment. She didnt have enough savings to do so. Her magazine hadnt even been launched yet. What was she suposed to do?
“Its not right,” she said as she broke down,” to try to escape the reality. This is where I truly am. Stuck in mess with no financial aid. How will I pay off my debt?”
She sat down on the floor and rested her head on her lap. She remembered what Arjun had told her. “You know Nisha,” he had said,”its surprising how our entire life we believe that money cant buy us happiness and yet here we are, worried about money. At this point in our life, all we want is money because it shall bring us the freedom to do what we love. How unfortunate it is to obsess over money. I never thought I would ever feel this way. But with no money to survive, how do you expect a soul to fly? I am not resigning Nisha. I wont take that risk. Although that job is harmful for me, but I cant risk my financial stability.”
“Who doesnt want to be stable,” she thought as she leaned back on her chair,”I wish I had no financial worries. All I long for is freedom. I dont know what I did was right or not but I simply cannot go back to that old life of mine. Its unbearable. But if thats what is destined, then I will abide by God’s will. I pray for strength and humility.”
“And why are we here holding these funny umbrellas?” asked Diya simply annoyed with Vivan’s proposal of accompanying him to the rooftop.
“But,” he said,”these were the only umbrellas the florist had. I know these stripes look a little weird.”
“What is it you are going to say?” she asked getting impatient.
“All I want to say is,” he said shivering in the rain,” I really have no idea if we shall ever be on a date again but for this moment I can tell you that as the moon reaches her full glowing phase, she knows she has to wane again. But that doesnt dim her glow. So for now lets just celebrate our togetherness no matter where we shall be the next moment.”
“How did you know,” she said,”that I wanted you to say this.”
“Well,” he said,”I am pretty smart you see. That day when we spoke of the mantra “Love knows best” I somehow understood it has a much deeper meaning. As you too believe in it, love only knows this moment because only this moment truly exists. It knows nothing beyond this. And when I had a vision of a picture depicting the phases of the moon, I was convinced that this is what I should say.”
“I am glad,” she said,” that we are not thinking about tomorrow. Not all sunrises seem beautiful.”
