”I am glad,” said Nisha as Ahan and she walked into the sitting room together,” that you are transparent in your approach. I cannot speak the truth with that ease.”
”I dont like to hide things,” he said pulling out a chair for her,” its raining again.”
”So lets see, this draft is complete. I have got a few pictures here and………..I need to highlight this text and……….” Diya was busy working on her laptop. Sheets of plain paper were scattered all around and her hair were tied in a messy bun.
She looked around for her phone and on grabbing it, she quickly called up Nisha’s cousins Sudhir and Riya to speak about some technical stuff.
”I shall do the designing,” spoke Riya from the other end of the line,” Sudhir is working on the logo. You both just focus on the content. The rest shall all be done.”
”Thats wonderful,” spoke Diya arranging a few sheets together,” thank you so much.”
”Ask Nisha not to worry,” said Riya,” we are there for her.”
”She is blessed,” thought Diya as she disconnected the call,” to have such supportive people in her life. My family is so different. I havent spoken to my cousins since ages.”
”What are you writing?” asked Ahan noticing Nisha busy in some paper work.
”Its a new draft,” she said without looking up,” I am trying to give it my best.”
”Whats your project about? And why is it a secret?”
”There is a right time for everything. I shall let you know when the universe asks me to.”
”Now what is missing here,” said Nisha scanning her draft,” I have written about lanterns and candles…….but I havent mentioned anything about the cost effectiveness of a homely living. Yes, thats right. Lets write it down.”
Arjun walked into the sitting room with a book in his hands. He took off his coat and made himself comfortable on one of the armchairs close to the fireplace. He quickly ordered some warm coffee and leaned back on his chair.
”Thank God,” he thought,” we have got such a splendid opportunity. Dr. Rajat was pretty cool about this. Another workshop and that too so soon………It seems like its raining blessings.”
Arjun got up and looked around. He saw Diya rushing towards him. She seemed pretty excited.
”Mr. Arjun,” she spoke,” I am really sorry to disturb you but will you please be kind enough to tell me where Vivan is at the moment. He isnt picking up my call and……………..I really need to see him right now.”
”Vivan is in the library,” he said,” thats where I last saw him.”
”Thank you so much. Have a nice day.”
”I hope you are all right now,” he said,” your health……….”
”Its great,” she said,” I will take your leave now.”
As she walked away, Arjun leaned back and closed his eyes.
The rains had started again and the warmth of the fireplace made him feel as if he was at home. He soon fell asleep with a soft smile on his face.
