Finally the darkness melted away as the light of love spread all around. She turned around and as she did so, all her fears were dissolved by the warmth of love.
”So,” said Nisha, “it was you who was following me?”
”Dont worry,” said Vivan as he noticed Diya getting anxious again, “we shall go look for her. Take my number and inform us if she comes to you.”
”Thats really kind of you. I shall accompany you too,” she said.
”Its better you stay here,” said Vivan, “in case she comes here looking for you.”
Arjun and Vivan walked away as Diya dialled Nisha’s number once again.
”And why are we going to look for her?” said Arjun angrily once they had walked out of the hall.
”Because,” said Vivan, “its good to help others.”
”She never asked us for any help.”
”That hardly matters. We help because it makes us feel good.”
Ms. Manya walked towards Nisha and said, “Calm down my dear. I mean no harm.”
”Then why didnt you respond earlier?” asked Nisha stepping back and preparing to run away.
”How are we supposed to know where she is?” said Arjun as they arrived at the bottom of the staircase.
”I dont know if anyone recognises her,” said Vivan.
”Well,” said Ms. Manya looking into her purse,” have a look at this.”
Nisha took the little envelope from her. It was old and dusty. She opened it quickly and found an identity card in it.
”You are a CBI agent?” asked Nisha feeling shocked.
”Not now,” said Ms. Manya, “I left that job years ago. I am happy with my readings you see. But the team told me to become an undercover agent for them in this particular case. I just couldn’t say no. This time its something really big. I have been keeping a close watch on all these guests. I followed you to see what you are up to.”
”And why are you disclosing all your information to me?”
”I am still an intuitive guide you see. I know that this information is safe with you.”
”A guest is missing?” Arjun heard a man yelling at Mr. Adil.
”No one is safe here. Whats happening?”
The ladies were talking worriedly. A huge crowd had gathered at the reception.
”Whats going on?” Arjun asked a waitor standing close to the staircase.
”A young lady has gone missing Sir. She was here with her friend. They say that someone saw her being abducted.”
”What are you saying?” said Arjun, “I hope its not……….”
”Well,” said Vivan,” we need to speak to the manager now.”
Nisha walked down the staircase and dialled Diya’s number.
”Her friend is with the investigators,” said Mr. Adil, “I don’t know her name.”
”Do you know her friend’s name?” asked Vivan worriedly.
”Yes Sir, I do remember. Its Ms……”
Suddenly the lights went out. The crowd began to scream. People took out their phones and turned on their torchlights.
”Whats with the electricity here?” said Diya as she tried calling Nisha again.
To her relief Nisha picked it up this time.
”Everybody please settle down. We are looking into this,” Mr. Adil tried to pacify the crowd.
